Frequently Asked Questions

What is the myFeedback system?

What is the myFeedback system?

MyFeedback is MLA’s new beef and sheep carcase feedback system. It is an online program designed to enable the timely sharing of industry data between processors, brand owners and producers (breeders and finishers) with the aim of optimising supply chain performance.

MyFeedback, replacing the existing Livestock Data Link (LDL) product, will bring together data from the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS), Meat Standards Australia (MSA), Animal Health Australia’s (AHA) National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP) and the National Livestock Reporting Services repositories. The system will link the data with analytical tools and benchmarking reports.

The myFeedback system will extend existing analytical capabilities from both LDL and myMSA’s benchmarking system. It provides new functionality around quantifying the lost opportunity cost of disease and/or defects associated with impacts on product traits and/or offal condemnations. It will also provide insights which will allow users to identify solutions to flagged problem areas and provide aggregated datasets to third parties within their owned businesses.

How do you access myFeedback?

How do you access myFeedback?

MLA’s myFeedback system can be accessed via a direct site link or from within your existing myMLA account dashboard.

If you meet all the requirements outlined in the ‘How do you sign up for myFeedback’ section above, the system will prompt you to authenticate yourself the first time you login to the system. The system has been set up to allow PIC owners to access accounts and provide access to associate users e.g., farm workers, veterinarians, agents or third parties.

Getting started

If you have a myMLA account existing, with a linked LPA account, the myFeedback system will prompt you to sign in using your myMLA credentials:

Please follow the prompts and fill in the email address and password associated with you myMLA account.

When you login for the first time, the account will ask you to select a persona that suits your business – that is, are you a producer, processor, or brand owner. Please select which one you would like to set up and click the next button.

Once the persona is selected the system will ask you for some basic contact information which will set up your user profile. If the system can’t find a linked LPA account linked to your myMLA account, it will prompt you to go back and link your LPA account before you continue.

Once the contact details have been submitted a list of ‘available’ PICs will be shown on the screen. This list will be based on the number of accounts you have linked to your myMLA account. If you are a multi-site holder you will be able to merge all feedback data in one login, or alternatively, you can exclude properties if they are not relevant to your business.

Once the authentication and account set up is complete you will be able to start using the myFeedback system. This process will only ever occur on initial login – all other times the system will simply ask you to login and then send you directly to the ‘Consignment Summary’ screen.

What is the National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP)?

What is the National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP)?

The National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP) commenced in 2007 to monitor lines of adult sheep in abattoirs for animal health conditions that reduce farm profit through productivity losses or increase meat processing wastage. Monitoring occurs in 14 domestic and export processing plants located in most states, and now also includes inspection of lamb consignments.

The project aims to:

  • monitor sheep for a range of significant animal health diseases and conditions which reduce productivity in the sheep value chain or can impact on market access
  • provide feedback to producers about the conditions occurring in their flock
  • enhance productivity within the sheep value chain by improving the quality of product entering the chain
  • explore options for a comprehensive and cost-effective animal disease monitoring/surveillance system and post-mortem inspection service that will provide accurate and timely animal health information.

For more information on the NSHMP please visit https://www.animalhealthaustralia.com.au/what-we-do/disease-surveillance/national-sheep-health-monitoring-program/.

Why can I see carcase compliance data but not animal health data?

Why can I see carcase compliance data but not animal health data?

This is most likely because the processor you consigned to does not participate in the National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP).

If you are processor and would like to participate in the NSHMP please contact Animal Health Australia on 02 6203 3947.

For more information on the NSHMP please visit https://www.animalhealthaustralia.com.au/what-we-do/disease-surveillance/national-sheep-health-monitoring-program/.

Why can I see animal health data but not carcase compliance data?

Why can I see animal health data but not carcase compliance data?

When you log into myFeedback you may have animal disease & defect data but no carcase compliance or eating quality attribute data. As myFeedback is a voluntary program, not all processors are currently participating, so you may not have carcase compliance data in the system.  If you believe you have consigned animals to a participating abattoir and you cannot see your data, send details of the consignment through to myfeedback@intergritysystems.com.au.  If you would like to find out if your processor is part of the myFeedback program, please contact your processor directly.

If you are a processor and no carcase compliance data exists for your establishment in myFeedback, this is most likely because your establishment has not been added to the list of abattoirs participating. If you believe your establishment should be in this list and you cannot see your data, contact myfeedback@intergritysystems.com.au.

Why do I not have any data in myFeedback?

Why do I not have any data in myFeedback?

When you log in to myFeedback you may not have access to carcase compliance, eating quality attribute, disease & defect, breeder or lean meat yield percentage data. This is most likely because the processor you consigned to does not participate in myFeedback and does not participate in the National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP). As myFeedback is a voluntary program, not all processors are participating, so you may not have data in the system.  At this point animal disease & defect data is limited to what is being collected through the National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP), with some data also being provided from specific processors. It is anticipated with further adoption that data will continue to be available.

If you are processor and you have no data available for your establishment in myFeedback, this is most likely because your establishment has not been added to the list of abattoirs participating in myFeedback or you are not currently participating in the National Sheep Health Monitoring Project (NSHMP) or sending direct disease and/or defect data.  If you believe you should have data visible in myFeedback, please contact myfeedback@intergritysystems.com.au.

Why do I only have animal health data on some animals?

Why do I only have animal health data on some animals?

Meat inspection occurs for food safety on all carcases. Inspection for animal disease & defect monitoring is a collaboration of several meat inspectors and occasionally some conditions may not be monitored for, or small numbers of animals in a line are missed. Small lines may not have disease & defect data recorded in some plants.
